Pastor Mike Green is a great man, directed by the Lord to help people have a better life. We have supported these people and will continue to support their ministry.  God Bless Them!! Hey Harold

i put the new arms on it from the moment it was built!!!!!! i used a degree meter that is used to check degrees on an airplanes moving surface and i was getting about 16 degrees all the way around. we changed over the the 420mm carbon blades this weekend and WOW WOW WOW!!! david was floating her around at 0 pitch and it was just floating around as if a few degrees were there!!! the new bigger blades did make my gryo a bit sensitive, i have to reduce the number a few degrees.

Mikey

Below is the email from Mike Price and David Stewart after testing his new EX with 420mm MS Composit Main Rotor Blades.  They are available for email...Hey Herold,

today david and i got in a flight on my qj-8 between light rain showers. the only thing we have really wanted to improve was the flipping front and back and side to side. i ran i idea by david to up my head speed. on normal i'm running 0./40/60 and we only been running one idle up and it's 67/45/67. and even at that we have been very happy with the head speed, so i adgusted the number on idle 2 to  74/50/74 and WOW!!! it made the diffrence. david was doing continues flipps and rolls without moving front and back and he almost never lost any height during the flipps!!! it's was amazing!!!! he did some good fplipps and so 3-d and then autoed it from about 25 feet high and then looked at me and said it's awesome!!!!!! the higher head speed made the diffrence!!!!

Mikey
Hey Harold,
Well after a week of rain and a Saturday of 30mph+ winds we got the test flights in on my NEW QJ-8EXV2!!!
we tracked the blades in fast and adjusted idle up 1 for 3-d flying and David and I took it up for some ringing out!!! we put an power meter on it and here are the numbers. normal we running 0/40/60 and idle1 70/45/70 and max amp draw was around 39 amps will an average of 30 to 31 amps, one flight i flew 7 minutes to mixed flying and only used 1600mah!!! i'm using 5cell 3000mah maxamp hv packs i'm doing a 2 and 3 cell seriesed to 5 cell. they have a continues discharge of 60 amps!!! we  still have a few adjustments to make, negative pitch was a little soft so we need to make some adjustments to that and just a couple other final set up things.
this evening i drilled and tapped the solid washout arms my kit had to the new mesurements for a lower flybar ratio. i flew 3 flights Sunday with the ball links in the stock postion but  with the new flybar arms. David and I are very happy with the performance it has and looking even more  forward to flying it with the ball links moved in on the wash out arms.  we are very happy with the performance of the batterys we have decided to use!! i love the power of the 990kv QJ motor and especially the power it has on 5 cell!!! can wait to up the head speed some more!! David was really ringing it out he was doing great tic tocs and all kinds of killer 3-d stuff!!! until we get all the setup stuff done and happy we are using the 400mm wood blades.
But all in alll this baby is a Kick But Machine!!!!

GO QJ!!!!

New EX setup tested today 2-08-2008. This is the best setup for the EX, it is very stable and does 3-D very well. The flybar ratio has been decreased and the cyclic and pitch servos are installed on the small level in the frames.  David Stewart tested the EX with stock 400mm wood blades from Japan and he is very happy with the EP8v2 EX now!!!  Ask for his email about this!!

I have lowered the flybar ratio on the EP8v2 EX and it has helped my flying, the heli is more stable for me to learn 3-D flying. You can use a longer fly bar arm or move the washout link back one hole as i did on the right bottom picture on the home page.

The optional swashplate tool is great for setting up a heli. I just built a new EX and it was so simple. I am making a step by step procedure now for the setup and installation of the swashplate linkages and servos.

We had a great time at SEFF, Steve Scott, Neal Hayes, Neil Edmonston, David Stewart and HH had their EP8 SP and EX and the new EP10 helis flying this past weekend. It was very windy, but we got in some good flying. David Stewart flew 3-D with his EX, it is always fun to watch him put the EX through it's paces. Neil Edmonston had his blue and yellow EX in the air showing how much power the Medusa 1000 motor can turn the MS Composit 420 CF rotor blades. Neil put on some wild low level 3-D flights, we got a video of Neil "In the Grass" with the tail rotor and main blades inches from the dirt during his flip!!  Thanks Neil and Richard for making the trip.  HH showed the new HeCell 4 Cell 14.8v 4000mah 25C pack and the new 6 Cell HeCell 22.2v 3000mah 25C pack which showed absolutely top performance on Neil's EX and Harold's EP10 this weekend. We ran the 4 Cell 4000 pack on the EP10, Neil run the 6 Cell 3000mah 25C pack on his EX.  These batteries are brand new!!

We have posted new information on the New Products page under the New Viper frame section. These new designed frames allow the use of the larger diameter motors and have more than enough room for the elevator servo arms.  The Viper frames, mount, gear, and landing gear reduce the total weight of the entire frame without any deficits!!  This is the ultimate 3-D EX machine. These frames can be run on the SP as well.  Oh!, by the way, with this lightweight design you can run 6 Cells and the weight will not destroy the performance of the machine, and the lighter weight of the heli is not as hard on your batteries!!!

Sorry, our website has been down with server problems, it is still not back up all over the country.  We will be taking stock of inventory the last week of each month to provide better customer service. Look in the AMA magazine on pages 104 and 106 & 107, the EP8 SP and HeCell batteries make the articles!!!  Thank you AMA and thank you HeCell for giving us the best batteries on the market at low prices!!!!!!!!  We have new Reps coming on board now and we will have a Rep page soon.  Chad Hartman of N.C. will be the newest Rep flying only the Quick of Japan Heli.  He will be flanked by Randy Swann of Hendersonville N.C. as another Quick of Japan only Rep.  Thank You guys for your time and service for us!!!
